I was invited to a dinner by the Ladies of Courtenay-Latimer Hall, a women's residence at Rhodes...by one of my students. I got a formal invitation a week ago and the e mail reminder came this week. About 400 residents live in this Hall and most came and were dressed so beautifully I could only think how happy Sam would be at a college like this. The womens hall, like the mens hall are run by Wardens, who sat at the guest table with me and other guests on the dais. They run the operation and are mandated with seeing that rules are followed and the university life is orderly as in no men on the floor after 11 PM. Extraordinary people. Magnificent Place. Wonderful students. The invitation text follows:
